Incidentally, Mary Pickford and Douglas Fairbanks were reputedly early parishioners and benefactors of this church. Indeed, Rev. Neal Dodd, its founder, officiated Mary's brother Jack's wedding to Marilyn Miller as well as several others held at Pickfair, including Mary's cousin Verna Watson's and that of friend and fellow actress Marjorie Daw who played alongside Mary in Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm (1917); he ogranized an auction to benefit the church which featured many items donated by Mary, apparently including some costumes; in 1939, he conducted funeral services for Mary's ex-husbands Owen Moore and Douglas Fairbanks; and perhaps most interestingly, according to the December 1, 1923 edition of the Los Angeles Evening Express, Rev. Dodd officiated Rosita's wedding to Don Diego in Mary's film Rosita (1923.)
